Study/Reading Groups With Lewis Aron
Lew runs many study/reading groups during the week, both in Manhattan and in Port Washington. Groups run from September through June and (except for holidays) they usually meet each week for an hour.
Readings are chosen by Lew in collaboration with each group.
Generally groups read one article or chapter per week and gather to discuss the material or to relate the readings to clinical cases. In choosing articles and books Lew tries to keep the focus on readings that are:
* Current
* Clinically relevant
* Controversial
Group Membership: Group membership consists largely of practicing clinician’s -- state licensed mental health professionals. Many of the group members have already completed formal psychoanalytic training but others are practicing clinicians who have had years of supervision or may be considering going on for analytic or postgraduate training in the future.
